Can I cast or screen mirror on Xumo TVs?

All Xumo TVs support casting from select apps that are already available on your Xumo TV like Netflix, YouTube and Spotify. Launch the desired app on your mobile device, then select the cast icon (typically located in the top right of your mobile device’s screen). Choose the name of your Xumo TV to start casting.

You can also use Apple AirPlay® to stream or share content from Apple devices to your Xumo TV. Stream videos, share photos or mirror exactly what's on your device's screen.  Learn more about Apple AirPlay on Xumo TV.

Element Xumo TVs support screen mirroring from Android or Windows devices. See  Do Xumo TVs come in different sizes and resolutions? for more information on Element TV models.

How do I screen mirror my Apple device to my Xumo TV?

You can use AirPlay® to screen mirror your Apple devices to Xumo TV.  Learn more about Apple AirPlay on Xumo TV.

How do I screen mirror my Android or Windows device to my Xumo TV?

If you have an Element Xumo TV, you can mirror your Android or Windows device to your TV.

To mirror from an Android or Windows device:

1. Go to Settings > Privacy and turn Mobile video casting ON.

2. Pull up the screen mirroring function on the device you wish to mirror (ex: from your Android phone or tablet, or by pressing WINDOWS+K on your Windows device).

3. Wait for the list of available devices to populate and then choose Element Xumo TV - (Friendly name).

4. A pop-up will appear on the TV asking if you want to connect to your device. Choose CONNECT.

5. A loading screen will appear on the TV. You should see a mirror of your device screen displayed on the TV within 30 seconds.

Once screen mirroring has started, press the Home or Back buttons on your remote to return to the home screen. Using voice commands or pressing app buttons or the Input button will stop the screen mirror and take you to the app or location specified.

Note: If you do not choose CONNECT within 30 seconds during step 4, the prompt will auto-dismiss and you will need to start from the beginning to successfully screen mirror.

You can only mirror or cast from one device to your TV at a time. If you are currently using Apple AirPlay® and want to switch to screen mirroring from an Android device, press the Home button on your remote to close AirPlay®.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues or errors with screen mirroring, try the following:

1. Ensure your TV is on the latest release (the “build timestamp” in Settings > Device settings > About should be from 2024).

2. Ensure WiFi is enabled on your secondary device (phone, tablet, etc.).

3. Move closer to the TV.

4. Minimize the number of active WiFi devices nearby.

5. Ensure Mobile video casting in Settings > Privacy is ON, otherwise screen mirroring will be disabled.

6. Ensure the TV is ON (you cannot initiate screen mirroring when the TV is OFF).

Why do I see a black screen on my TV when playing video on my device while screen mirroring?

Screen mirroring on Xumo TV does not include High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP encryption). Thus, you will see black video (often with audio) for all encrypted content you play on your source device while screen mirroring. Your source device may alert you to this when you connect to the TV.

Can I start screen mirroring from a second device while another device is already screen mirroring?

No. To start screen mirroring from another device, first stop screen mirroring on the first device by pressing the Back or Home buttons on your TV remote, or by stopping screen mirroring on the device itself. Then follow the steps to screen mirror from your other device.
