In the U.S., Xumo Reaches Nearly All Connected TV Households Due in Part to Its Robust Enterprise Business, Giving Consumers Choice and Advertisers Scale
With its recent Hisense Channels launch announcement, Xumo has reached two major industry milestones, solidifying its position at the center of the FAST (free ad-supported television) ecosystem. Xumo now powers over 2,000 FAST channels across 30 entertainment platforms and streaming services worldwide through its Enterprise business.
The milestones speak to the scale of Xumo in today’s rapidly growing and evolving FAST space, which is fueled in part by its unique and award-winning distribution strategy. Chances are, when a consumer brings home a new smart TV, streaming device, or set-top box, they will at some point interact with a FAST channel powered by Xumo – whether on Xumo Play, the company’s own direct-to-consumer FAST service, or integrated into the viewing experience of one of Xumo’s 30 platform partners. When all these dozens of endpoints are considered, it means that Xumo-powered FAST channels reach nearly 100% of connected TVs in the U.S.

One of the more recent ways Xumo Enterprise is introducing new audiences to FAST is through integration of FAST channels into traditional pay-TV channel guides, allowing customers to browse free streaming channels powered by Xumo along with pay-TV channels. As part of this strategy, Xumo is the exclusive FAST pipeline for Xfinity X1 and its Stream App, Cox Contour and Sky’s streaming devices. This industry-first approach is making it seamless and easy for engaged viewers to supplement their pay-TV channels with additional entertainment choices at no extra cost.
In addition to distribution through pay-TV providers, Xumo Enterprise partners with some of the biggest players in streaming to bring FAST into homes across the globe by powering many – and sometimes all—of the channels within the FAST apps offered by TV brands like Hisense, TCL, LG, Vizio, and Samsung on their smart TVs, helping to drive engagement and increase monetization. Similarly, smart TV operating systems such as Roku and Google TV leverage Xumo Enterprise to power the FAST channels that are seamlessly integrated into their user experience.
Many of these streaming platforms also enlist Xumo Enterprise to license and distribute a selection of Xumo’s 20 house channels. Spanning genres such as movies, crime TV, kids and reality TV, Xumo’s house channels help them enhance their content offering with already built and curated channels.
